Frequently asked questions

We answer common questions about our VPS.

Where will the server be located?

In our datacenter in Santiago, Chile.

Does it include a static IP?

Yes. All of our VPS include 1 IPv4 and 1 /64 IPv6.

Are any ports blocked?

No. No server has blocked ports, but it is subject to our Acceptable use policy (AUP).

Does it include root access?

Yes. You have administrator access (root or equivalent) on the operating system you install on the VPS.

Are there any content or usage restrictions?

We do not restrict content or how you use the server, as long as it complies with our Acceptable use policy (AUP) and Terms of service (TOS). In addition, use and content must comply with applicable law in Chile.

What payment methods do you accept?

Chile residents: bank transfer with Banco Santander and Banco Itaú (within 24 business hours) and debit or credit cards via Getnet, Transbank Webpay, and PayPal (immediate). International payments: PayPal and Getnet (immediate); the amount in Chilean pesos is converted automatically to US dollars at the exchange rate in effect at the time of payment.

How long does service activation take?

If payment is made via Getnet, Transbank, or PayPal, it will be validated automatically and the service will be activated within 10 minutes.

Can I change the plan I ordered?

Yes, you can always upgrade to a plan with more resources from the control panel, without losing content, assigned IPs, or your server configuration. Downgrading to a smaller plan is not supported.

Do you use your own resources or leased ones?

All hardware (servers and network equipment) is owned by HostedNode; we do not sublease infrastructure. IP addressing and the autonomous system (ASN) are also ours, and we are LACNIC members with a direct resource assignment.
